I, Katherine A. Pontone, GRI. SRES, e-PRO. am a licensed real estate broker, licensed in the state of New York since 1982. I opened Bright Horizons Realty at 2219 Voorhies Avenue in February 1985 and expanded my business to Staten Island in 1997. I am affiliated with The Brooklyn Board of REALTORS, The New York State Association of REALTORS, The National Association of REALTORS, The Staten Island Board of REALTORS, the Brooklyn New York MLS and Staten Island Multiple Listing Services, and have been actively engaged in the buying, selling, and managing of real property all of this time. I am now a Director on the Brooklyn New York MLS, and have served in many capacities including its President in 2004; I am a past president of the Brooklyn Board of REALTORS and am Chairperson of the Brooklyn Board of REALTORS Professional Standards Committee. I was Chairperson of the New York Association of REALTORS Professional Standards Committee in 2007. I have served in many capacities on all of the Boards of these organizations. In 1997 I graduated from the REALTORS Institute after completing courses in appraising real property, managing real estate sales and other aspects in the Real Estate Business. My designation, as a GRI is achieved by less that 20% of real estate professionals in the country. I also have received an e-PRO certification and a Senior Real Estate Specialist designation from the National Association of REALTORS. Having been actively involved in the buying, selling, leasing and appraising of real property during the past 30 years, I have become very knowledgeable of the real estate market and have been repeatedly called upon to appraise property in both Brooklyn and Staten Island.
