About Michael Spataro
Michael Spataro grew up in Sheepshead Bay, lived in Ireland and Italy, and lives on the Upper West Side. Michael purchased his first Manhattan residence in 1996, and he now owns three Manhattan properties. Michael has been an Upper West Side landlord since 2003, and he holds a New York State real estate salesperson license.
Michael transformed a long-time real estate hobby into a side business, and eventually, a full-time career. Having honed his skills through intimate familiarity with the Upper West Side, Michael is now a full-service New York City agent. Before obtaining a professional license to facilitate others' real estate transactions, Michael was a buyer, seller, renter, and landlord. Additionally, Michael implemented information systems for various clients at IBM (18 years) and Accenture (6 years). Previously, he performed financial analysis for the American headquarters of a Dutch retail clothing firm and worked in advertising and in instructional design/development.Michael obtained an MBA (MIS & Marketing) and a BS (Finance & International Business) from The Pennsylvania State University and New York University, respectively. Before university in Greenwich Village, Michael attended high school in Chelsea.
Michael spoke Italian fluently, but he is out of practice. He flubs his way through other languages, especially Romance languages. A world traveler, Michael has saved dolphins in Spain, birds in Peru, and turtles in Costa Rica. Locally, Michael may be seen walking friends' dogs Beau and Lobo on the Upper West Side. Michael enjoys new experiences: he designed a Dutch Colonial house, auditioned for a Broadway show, and climbed a Guatemalan volcano.
