Camp Chateaugay

Built in 2022, this finished 12 x 24' camp sits on 5 acres in Orwell, NY on a plowed county road. Finished inside with knotty pine interior, the one-room camp has a kitchen area and partitioned off area for the toilet. The camp has a dug well (needs to be hooked up), a septic system and power runs off a generator. Electricity is available at the roadside. A portable propane heater provides warmth in cold weather. The property also includes a storage shed. Nicely wooded with northern hardwood forest, the cabin would make an excellent base camp for outdoorspeople as it's close to Chateaugay State Forest (over 3,000 acres). Several other state forests are also located nearby for Northern Tier hunting, hiking and XC skiing. The property is minutes away from the Salmon River for world-class salmon and steelhead fishing. Also, enjoy direct access to the Oswego County ATV and snowmobile trail systems. The Salmon River Reservoir is close by - a 7 mile long, undeveloped waterway that offers plenty of islands and small bays to explore by canoe or kayak. It also offers great bass and trout fishing. Lake Ontario is nearby for swimming and boating - shop locally in Altmar or Sandy Creek for supplies.
