This is an opportunity to own a piece of Kingston s historic history. This structure built in 1879 was the main fire house for the city of Kingston located just behind where City Hall stands. Today it serves as a two family home. Victorian era architecture can be seen throughout the building. To include dental moldings across the facade of this stately brick structure. Throughout the interior you will appreciate the decorative 9 ft original tin Ceilings and period fireplaces. This two family home features two bedrooms one bath on the first floor with hardwood floors throughout. The second floor apartment has just been completely renovated and features three bedrooms one bath. Both apartments at one time we re rented for $1500 a month. The upstairs has been recently vacated and currently there is only a tenant in the first floor apartment. Historical documents state that this lot at 416 Hasbrouck Avenue was purchased in 1878 for $200, and the city authorized the construction of a two-story brick engine fire house by Charles Vogel at a cost of $1200 in November 1878. Opened in 1879 it s served as quarters for Sharp Engine, Franklin Hose, Ike and Dick Hose and Weiner hose. This station became the first midtown fire house manned by career fire personnel and horse drawn fire apparatus with 18 members, where they remained until January 1908 when it was sold for $1,325.00. Fire personal were then transferred to Central Station at E. O Reilly St. On May 2, 1880 the company changed its name to Ike and Dick hose company number No. 6 in honor of Isaac and Richard Weiner. The following year they changed the name to Weiner hose Company No.6. It is also been said that the half moon glass, that displays Weiner Hose Fire Company still remains behind the dormer. This home is conveniently located within a short distance to all Kingston has to offer, to include internet coffee shops, farmers market, local brewery and Ulster performing Arts (offering off Broadway productions and concerts). Also a short distance to the downtown Kingston Waterfront with fine restaurants and art galleries. Don't miss out on this great income property and an opportunity to own a piece of Kingston's History!!
