The Niobrara River is known for its natural beauty and recreational services where families and friends come from all over the state and beyond to meet up to enjoy camping, horseback riding, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, fishing hunting and more. This property is also located near The Meadville store which is open year-round serving food and drinks and is an enjoyable place to cool off after a day on the river or you can be warmed up by the wood burning stove in the winter time. The store is well known for their annual polar bear dip in January and the Meadville Park was the site for the annual plunge. The park currently has two picnic shelters that have 30-amp 110-volt hookups with multiple outlets and has a well and water spigot. There are several other primitive camping spots throughout and has 4 charcoal cooking grills and 5 picnic tables. The shower house has an on-demand water heater and there is also an A.D.A. public toilet facility maintained by the Niobrara Council through an easement during the peak usage months. The restrooms were built near the entrance so that access to the remainder of the park can be limited to private use only.
